We took a class in Capoiera, a highly athletic Brazilian dance/martial arts discipline.
We met artists working on a set for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Mud/Bone art studio and later slept at The Point, a communly arts center in Hunts Point in the Bronx.
Memorabilia from 9/11 at St Paul’s Chapel near the World Trade Center; students went out to interview workers around the construction site about how 9/11 has affected their lives.
At the New York Sun with Managing Editor Ira Stoll (WA ‘91) setting up tomorrow’s front page.
On the highest climbing wall on the east coast
All slept fine at outward bound.
Dinner in Little India— students visited several different restaurants and negotiated the best deal for our group of 15. This restaurant, Raj Majal, featured live musicians during dinner.
“Free-style” performance by Gary and one of the other poets at the Bowery Poetry Club.
We visited a Buddhist temple in Chinatown.
